12-yr-old dies after being struck by lightning

A 12-year-old child died on the spot after being struck by lightning in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar yesterday.

Emon, was the son of Abdul Malek from the upazila's Alishergaon, said Sreemangal Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jahangir Hossain.

The lightning struck him as he was walking with his friends in a field near Chowmuhona mill area during a thundershower.

When locals took him to the Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on-duty declared him dead on arrival.
