Toshiba lunches new notebooks

Toshiba unveiled 5 new models of its Satellite and Portégé notebooks in the local market at a grand event at a city hotel on June 12. The technology product leader also announced that Indian film actress Vidya Balan would act as its Brand Ambassador for South Asia. Among the four new Satellite models, the new Satellite M300 and A300 comes with the new Toshiba Fusion Finish, a super-high gloss exterior that's achieved with a special manufacturing process that involves fusing molten resin into the mold. This reproduces a breathtaking metallic effect with high precision positional accuracy. While the other two good looking yet remarkable value-priced entry-level notebook platforms, the Satellite L310 and L300 targets at the budget conscious consumer. These notebook PCs also come with all the features that consumers will need, such as a high brightness, high resolution Clear SuperView TFT display, DVD SuperMulti Double Layer Drive (DVD ± RW/RAM), 5-in-1 Card Reader, built-in Webcam, USB Sleep and Charge ports, Bluetooth v2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate (EDR), Wireless LAN (802.11b/g) and 10/100 Ethernet LAN. The new Portégé M800 notebook has a brand new stylish design and also comes with the new Toshiba Fusion Finish. Other distinctive design elements in this notebook series include feather-touch multimedia buttons, flushed touch pad with chrome mouse buttons and a white LED lighted logo. "With the launch of this new range of advanced technology products, we want to demonstrate to our consumers our long term commitment to bring in the very latest products and technologies. We believe this step will give us a stronger, bolder presence here in your market, which is witnessing immense changes in the lifestyles of consumers," said Jeffrey Quek, country manager for Computer Systems Division, Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd. Rezaul Karim, managing director, International Office Machines Ltd, the local distributor of Toshiba notebooks were also present at the event.
