Housewife injured in acid attack
A housewife sustained burn injuries allegedly as her relatives threw acid following a dispute over a piece of land in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
Sajeda Begum, 35, wife of Nazimuddin of Dergram village, is now being treated at Manikganj Sadar Hospital.
There was a longstanding conflict between Nazimuddin and his elder brother Abdul Aziz over the land, the victim told local journalists at the hospital.
As a sequel to the conflict, Aziz's son Babu, Sohan and Swapan attacked Nazimuddin, leaving him injured at around 3:00am. At one stage, they threw acid at her, alleged Sajeda.
The victim's husband filed a general diary with Sadar police station in this connection, said officer in-charge Shafikul Islam.
Stern action would be taken against those responsible for the offence after investigating the matter, said the OC.
