Pledge to end Violence against Women

People join human chains in 1) Jhenidah, 2) Rangpur, 3) Tangail, 4) Faridpur and 5) Dinajpur district towns, and 6) Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali district from 1:00pm to 1:30pm yesterday, expressing solidarity with the programme organised by the Bangladesh chapter of One Billion Rising, a global movement to end violence against women. Similar programmes were also held at several places in the capital as well as all the 66 districts across the country as part of the organisation's nationwide uprising campaign. Photo: STAR
