Hall-Mark chairman gets bail in all cases
She promises to refund swindled money
A Dhaka court yesterday granted ad interim bail to Hall-Mark Group Chairman Jasmine Islam under the condition that she, along with her company, will repay Tk 2,600 crore, which her company swindled, to Sonali Bank.
Judge Md Zahirul Haque of the Senior Special Judge's Court granted bail for one and a half months to Jasmine in 11 cases after her lawyer filed separate petitions on January 29.
Her lawyer Advocate Mutkti Khanam filed the petitions with the Special Judge's Court against the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court's order that on January 15 rejected her bail petitions in the cases.
In the petitions, lawyer Mukti Khanam promised that her client, along with others concerned, will repay the money to the Ruposhi Bangla branch of Sonali Bank after getting out of jail and holding discussion with the bank authorities.
