Dev fair starts at RU
A two-day fair styled "Switzerland- Bangladesh Development Fair" started yesterday on Rajshahi University (RU) campus marking 40 years of establishment of diplomatic relation between the two countries.
RU Mass Communication and Journalism Department and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) jointly organised the fair.
Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Dr Urs Herren inaugurated the fair at 10:00am.
Swiss Embassy Head of Cooperation Dr Derek Mueller made a presentation on the Swiss Contribution to the Rural Development of Bangladesh.
Press Institute of Bangladesh Director General Prof Dulal Chanra Biswas, MCJ Department Chairman Tanveer Ahmed and its former chairman Mashihur Rahman, also spoke on the occasion.
A total of 34 stalls have been set up at the venue where more than 30 development projects funded or co-funded by the Swiss government are being showcased.
