College student shot
A college student was seriously injured as a gang of criminals shot him at Ganji Patti intersection at Narsingdi Bazar yesterday morning. Russel Mahmud, 22, a second year student of Narsingdi Government College, also son of Abdus Sattar of Boukur area in the town, was having his hair cut at a saloon. One Al Amin called him out of the saloon to the nearby road, where his gangman Shanta appeared on the scene and fired three shots at Russel. The two youths fled the scene as locals rushed to the spot hearing the sound of gunshots.
