Fair on Amal Sen begins
A two-day long Amal Sen Mela (fair) began at Bakoli village in the district yesterday.
Lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon, president of Workers Party Bangladesh, inaugurated the fair organised by Amal Sen Smriti Sangrakkhon Committee.
Various programmes have been chalked out to mark the 10th death anniversary of Comrade Amal Sen, one of the leading organisers of the Liberation War and former president of the party.
The programmes include placing wreath at the grave of the comrade and cultural function, said the organisers.
A discussion was also held on Bakoli School premises. Later, local leaders and activists of the party carrying banners and placards brought out a procession on the school premises on the occasion.
