3 get life for murder
A court here on Wednesday sentenced three people to life term rigorous imprisonment for killing a man.
Additional district and sessions Judge M Barekuzzaman pronounced the verdict in presence of the accused and also fined them Tk 10,000 each, in default to suffer six months more in jail.
The convicts are two siblings-- Hannan Biswas, 40, and Pannan Biswas, 38, residents of Garakhula village in Madukhali upazila -- and Jalil, 38, of Bonmalidia village of the upazila.
According to the case statement, the accused hacked to death M Ali, 30, son of Yead Ali at Delmat hurapur village of Vatikandi area of the upazila on November 4, 2007 and on that night the deceased's brother Shamsul Hoque filed a murder case against the convicts.
The court handed down the verdict after examining the witnesses and evidence.
