Housewife murdered over extra-marital affair
A woman was killed allegedly by a youth over extra-marital relationship at Balidara Teghoria village in Ranishankoil upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Jyotsna Begum, 25, wife of Dulal Hossain of the village.
Quoting locals, Feroz Khan, officer in-charge of Ranishankoil Police Station, said Jyotsna had developed an affair with Mofizul Islam, 24, son of Reaz Uddin of the village.
Mofizul went to the victim's house at about 7:45pm and stabbed her indiscriminately, leaving her dead on the spot as she turned down his indecent proposal.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC.
In Magura, a housewife allegedly committed suicide at Botiakhali village in Sadar upazila on Saturday night.
The victim was Sabita Rani Biswas, 24, wife of Pradip Kumar Biswas of the village, reports UNB.
Police and hospital sources said Sabita took poison when her husband beat her mercilessly for dowry at around 7:00pm.
She was rushed to Sadar hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
