Man stabbed to death
A man was stabbed to death following an altercation over sharing of gambling money at Nanir Bunia Punarbasanpara in Naikhangchhari upazila early yesterday. The dead was identified as Shahanur Mia, 58, son of Siraj Jamadar of the village. The officer in-charge of Naikhangchhari Police Station said Shahanur picked up quarrel with other gamblers over sharing of money. Later, his rivals stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy. Police arrested one named M Absar, said the OC.
