Man killed in clash over land dispute
A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash over land dispute at Kochua village in Saghata upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jaidul Mia, 45, a farmer of the village.
OC Ahsan Habib of Saghata PS said there had been a longstanding dispute between Jaidul Mia and Mokbul Hossain of the village over a piece of land.
An altercation ensued when Jaidul Mia along with men went to transplant Aman paddy on the disputed around 4pm. Later, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons and sticks attacked each other for about half an hour that left 11 people including Jaidul Mia injured.
Later, Jaidul Mia succumbed to his injuries on the way to Gaibandha General Hospital.
