Two abducted college boys rescued, one arrested
Gobindaganj police rescued two abducted college students on Sunday night from village Rahabol under Shibganj police station in Bogra district.
The two boys were abducted on August 24 allegedly by extortionists for Tk five lakh ransom.
Police said, on Friday evening, a gang picked up Arif Mia and Kafiluddin, both first year students at Gobindaganj Degree College from Balubhara village in Gobindaganj upazila and took them to an unknown place.
The gang moved from place to place with the two youths and contacted their relatives over cell phone for Tk five lakh ransom for release of each victim.
But the parents of the boys' filed cases with Gobindagnaj police station.
Later police with the help of the victims' fathers laid a trap by agreeing to pay the ransom money in Rahabol area under Shibganj police station in Bogra district.
There they swooped on the abductors while receiving the ransom and arrested one Ashalat from the spot.
Police also rescued Arif Mia and Kafiluddin unhurt on Sunday night, following the confession of the arrestee.
