Two outlaws arrested in Jhenidah
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two 'regional leaders' of outlawed Gono Mukti Fauj at Hudaputia village in Sadar upazila yesterday.
They also recovered a foreign made rifle and a light gun (LG) from their possession.
The arrestees are Zillur Rahman, 45, son of Motleb Mollah and Hanif Biswas, 50, son of late Ahmed Ali Biswas of the village.
Squadron leader Md Hamidul Haque, company commander of Jhenidah Rab, said acting on a tip-off, they raided the village when a group of activists of the outfit were holding a meeting for committing robbery.
Sensing the presence of the elite force, the gang tried to flee the scene but Rab arrested the duo along with the arms.
