4 cops closed on bribery charge
Four policemen at Bangabandhu Bridge police station (east) were closed to Tangail police line yesterday on charge of bribery.
When the four were taking bribes from different vehicles stopping them in front of the police station on Monday morning, a team of a private television channel, who were coming from Rajshahi, shot the acts of bribery, sources said.
The news footage was later shown on the television on the same day.
Yesterday, the four were closed to the Tangail police line.
The closed cops are assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Mohammad Akram and constables Hazrat Ali, Jahangir Alam and Abu Jayed.
Younus Ali, officer in-charge (OC) of Bangabandhu Bridge police station (east) said that the incident will be investigated and the four cops will be punished if found guilty.
