3-day debate begins in Ctg
A three-day long school debate competition began yesterday at Chittagong District Shilpakala Academy in the city.
Confidence Cement Limited and Bangla Daily Prothom Alo jointly organised the competition where 16 schools of the port city are participating.
Muhammad Serajuddin, vice chancellor of Chittagong University and chief guest at the opening ceremony, said debate opens the threshold of mind and removes ignorance and bigotry.
Resident editor of Prothom Alo Abul Momen said debaters should be given the opportunity to select their topics according to their level of understanding.
