2 human traffickers get life in Manikganj
A tribunal here on Tuesday sentenced two people to life imprisonment in a human trafficking case.
The tribunal also fined Awal Hossain of Singair upazila in the district, and Pabitra Rosario alias Gilbert, 32, of Savar in Dhaka, Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer three months RI more.
According to the prosecution, the convicts sent a woman of Laxmibazar in Dhaka, to Dubai with a promise to give her a job at a shop.
But there she was forced to engage in flesh trade. When the victim informed her husband of the matter, he gave the human traffickers Tk 17,000 to get her back.
As the traffickers did not return his wife, he filed a case with Singair police station on May 13, 2006.
