10 hurt in BCL-JCD clashes in Sylhet
At least 10 people were injured in clashes between the activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) in city's Pathantula and Subidbazar areas on Tuesday night.
Locals said there was a long standing dispute between Safayet, an activist of Bidhan group of BCL and Nabil, a worker of Kala Manik group of JCD in the city.
As a sequel to their enmity, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons locked in a clash at about 10:30pm in front of Pathantula Petrol pump, leaving three people injured.
Later, BCL workers attacked JCD workers at about 11:30pm in front of Subidabazar Ali Center, leaving seven JCD men injured.
Of the injured, Safayet Khan, 22, Shiplu, 20, Bidyut, 21, Ripon, 20, Jubayer, 22, Abdus Sabur, 23 and Mostaq, 20, were admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
