5 rescued from traffickers
Police in a drive rescued five young women from Sadipur border here while they were being trafficked to India yesterday morning.
A female human trafficker was also arrested while her other accomplices managed to flee the scene.
The rescued women hailed from Dhan Doba village in Gournadi upazila of Barisal district.
OC Hasan Hafizur Rahman of Benapole port PS said on secret information they raided the area and rescued the women in the early morning.
He said the human traffickers were taking the women to India promising to give good jobs there.
