Roadblock for power
Local residents yesterday blocked the Laxmipur-Dhaka highway for four hours demanding uninterrupted supply of power. They placed logs and bricks at different points of the road from Jaksin Bazar to Mandari Bazar creating long tailback on both sides of the highway. The blockade from 8am caused immense sufferings to the commuters. However, they withdrew the programme at noon following assurance from Palli Biddyut Samity men and police officials.
