BNP activists sent to jail
Eight BNP leaders and activists including Bonpara municipal unit BNP secretary Lutfar Rahman were sent to jail yesterday after their bail petitions were rejected in an arson case. Judge Mahmudul Hasan of Natore Speedy Trial Tribunal sent the accused leaders and activists to jail around 4:30pm. Earlier, the accused surrendered before the court around 11:30am and filed a petition for bail. A total of 13 leaders and activists of BNP were accused in a case for torching a vehicle near Bonpara Bazar during hartal hours on April 30.
