1 killed as Magura villagers clash
A youth was killed as two rival groups of villagers locked in a clash over a trifling matter at Kulia village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Ripon, 20, son of Aftab Mollah of the village.
OC Asaduzzaman Munshi of Sadar PS said there was a longstanding conflict between Tikka Mollah and Zakir Mollah of the village over establishing supremacy at the village.
Locals said supporters of Tikka and Zakir picked up a quarrel over a trivial matter at late afternoon. Later, both the groups equipped with lethal weapons attacked each other, leaving Ripon seriously injured.
He was taken to a local hospital where he died later. As the death news spread, Ripon's group vandalised and looted 10 houses of their rivals.
