Infighting in Magura Jubo Dal
Dissolve new body, demand rivals
Internal feud in Jubo Dal Magura district unit surfaced anew after formation of a convening committee on Tuesday.
Aggrieved leaders and activists led by former convener Alamgir Hossain and joint convener Ashrafuzzaman Shamim yesterday held a meeting and took out a procession in the town demanding immediate dissolution of the newly formed convening committee.
They also burnt the effigies of central Jubo dal President advocate Moazzem Hossain Alal, district BNP President Kabir Murad and General Secretary Ali Ahmed Biswas.
Jubo Dal central committee on Tuesday approved the convening committee with advocate Washikur Rahman Kallol as convener and Abu Sayeed al Mamun, Amirul Islam, Shahidul Islam Rupak and Ujjal Hossain as joint conveners.
The aggrieved Jubo Dal men held their meeting at Bhaina Square in the town. They blamed BNP central leader and former minister advocate Niatai Roy Chowdhury, who hails from Magura, for dividing the BNP district unit and its associate bodies into several factions. They also declared Alal and Nitail 'unwanted' in Magura.
Contacted, convener of the newly approved committee Washikur Rahman Kallol said the district unit will soon hold a meeting to discuss the anti-organisational activities of some party men.
