CCCI call to speed up Dhaka-Ctg highway construction
President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Murshed Murad Ibrahim, yesterday sought the prime minister's intervention in speeding up the construction of the four-lane Dhaka Chittagong highway.
In a letter to the prime minister, he said the highway is of utmost importance as the bulk of the country's imports and exports travel over it, says a CCCI press release.
The construction remains frozen since March with only 17 percent progress instead of the projected 71 percent, adversely affecting the country's economy, he stated.
