Youth beaten to death in capital
A youth was beaten to death at Shahidnagar Beribandh in Chwak Bazar area of the capital yesterday.
The victim, Iqbal Hossain, 27, lived at Lalbagh Shahidnagar and worked at the Beribandh bus stand on a temporary basis for the last three days.
He got seriously injured when around 20 people, working in a cattle farm in the area, beat Iqbal and another suspecting them as cattle lifters at around 10:30am, said police. Another was released with injuries.
However, Iqbal's wife Amena Begum said she knew nothing behind the beating.
Iqbal died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 6:30pm after Amena took him to the hospital.
