5 accused in UP chairman Razzak killing case held
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) personnel in separate drives in Dhaka and Brahmanbaria arrested five accused in sensational UP Chairman Razzak killing case yesterday morning.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Kaiyum, prime accused in the case, Nazrul Islam, Abdul Jalil, Zakir and Noab Ali.
Acting on secret information, a team of Rab-11 raided Sadarghat area of the capital and arrested Mohammad Kaiyum and Nazrul Islam at about 5:30am.
Following their confessional statement the elite force conducted separate drives in Maniknagar river terminal area of Brahmanbaria district and arrested the three other accused at about 8:30am.
Mohammad Abdur Razzak, Narsingdi Alokbali union parishad chairman in Sadar upazila, was stabbed to death by a gang of criminals at CNG road near Janata Bank intersection in the district town on the night of April 15.
Ismail Hossain, son of Abdur Razzak filed a case naming 17 people in this connection.
