Acid attack on housewife
Criminals threw acid on a housewife at Shreerampur village under Baraigram upazila in Natore district on Sunday night.
Severely burnt, she was admitted to Baraigram upazila health complex where the on-duty doctor referred her to Natore Sadar Hospital yesterday morning.
Victim Sharifa Begum, 45, a mother of three, is wife of Rezaul Karim Kanchu of village Shreerampur under the upazila.
Sharifa said she was sleeping at her room on Sunday midnight when 8-10 men including Rafiqul ,35, Jahurul, 31, Sujon, 22, Rasel, 20, Azad, 45, and Razzak, 45, entered their compound and asked her husband's whereabouts.
"As I refused to tell it they threw acid on me through the window" Sharifa claimed.
Assistant Surgeon Sakilur Rahman at Natore Sadar Hospital said that the acid severely burned Sharifa.
Quoting locals, Anwar Hossain, officer in-charge of Baraigram police station, said there was a feud between Amir Hossain and Rezaul Karim over forming a school managing committee of Shreerampur High School.
No case was filed till filing of this report yesterday afternoon.
