JMB man killed by rival party men

Police recovered the severed head of a member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Gomastapur upazila of the district yesterday. Police on Saturday night arrested two JMB men after the beheaded body of the party activist was found in Kholshi area of Nachole upazila on Friday morning. Later, the JMB man was identified as Ruhul Amin Salman, 28, a resident of Dhanmondi in the capital. The arrestees are Jahangir Alam, 15, and Sanwar Hossain, 41. Jahangir was arrested at Balugram village in Gomastapur upazila while Sanwar, also a brother in-law of Salman, at Chandpur village in Nachole upazila. As per their confessional statement, police recovered the severed head from Dhainaghat area near the Mohananda River in Gomastapur upazila at around 7:00am, said OC of Nachole police station. The arrestees told police that Salman came to his father-in-law's house at Kholshi in Nachole upazila from Dhaka on April 23 and they stabbed him to death at the same house on the night of April 26. Salman got married to Saima, 22, of Gomastapur upazila in 2011, the OC said. Police also picked up Saima and Sanwar's wife Rahima Begum for quizzing. Police said Salman might have been killed over an intra-party feud.
