Student held for 'answer script forgery'
Police arrested a college student in Sadar upazila yesterday on charge of answer script forgery.
The arrestee, Shahidul Islam, 26, of Egaro Kahonia village in Ghatail upazila, is an honours final year student of political science at Government Sadaat College.
Nazrul Islam, officer in-charge of Tangail Model police station, said on secret information, a team of police led by sub-inspector Shoeb Ahmed raided a private students' dormitory in Karatia area and arrested Shahidul from there.
They also seized an answer script of compulsory English subject of honours second year's examination at National University held on March 14 from his possession.
During a primary interrogation, the arrestee said he and his roommate Mazedur Rahmnan Hiron, 30, had been carrying out the forgery for long in collaboration with a section of dishonest staff and examiners of the university, the OC added.
