4 Jamaat activists held in Pirojpur
Police yesterday arrested four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami at Sreeramkathi Bazar under Nazirpur police station for their suspected involvement in anti-state activities.
The arrestees are Islami Bank officials Kazi Mosleh Uddin and Kabir Shikder, Mozibar Rahman, a cloth trader and Maulana Saifullah, acting superintendent of Dighirjan Sabdullah Madrasa under the same PS.
Police said, a group of Jamaat activists were holding a 'secret meeting' at Tamanna garment shop of Mozibar Rahman at the bazar at noon.
Being informed by locals, police raided the shop and arrested the four from the spot while others managed to flee.
