'Notorious criminal' held
Police arrested notorious criminal “Galakata” Rafique from MM College area in the town on Saturday night. Rafiq is son of Abdul Jalil of Shastitala area of Jessore town. Police said a group of criminals led by Rafiq beat up a woman and snatched money from her on MM College compound. On information, police raided the area and arrested Rafiq. Police said Rafiq was wanted in a number of cases including for extortion, bomb blast and murder.
