Bidi workers on strike
Workers of Zalil Bidi Factory in the district town yesterday went on an indefinite strike to press home their six-point demand. The demands include medical allowance and fair wage. The workers under the banner of Kurigram Bidi Labourer Union staged demonstration in front of the factory premises at about 10:30am. The union leaders vowed to continue their agitation programme until their eight-point demands are met. Among others, Rafiqul Islam, president of the union, spoke.
