University student abducted
Criminals abducted a university student from Biharipara in Kaliganj upazila town on Monday night.
Victim Sumon Banarjee, 21, is son of late Shukumar Banarjee of Kadipur village under the upazila.
He is a student of Science and Technology University in Jessore.
Uncle of the victim Shyam Sundar Banarjee said, on Monday at around 7:30pm, a gang abducted Sumon from Biharipara and demanded Tk 6 lakh ransom in the morning over mobile phone.
They also threatened to kill Sumon if they inform the matter to law enforcers, they said.
