One killed in Naogaon clash
15 injured in Patuakhali
One person was killed and three others were injured in a clash over a piece of disputed land at Omarpur village of Dhamurhat upazila in Naogaon yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Atoar Rahman, 40, son of Bashir Uddin of the village.
Contacted, Zia Latiful Islam, office in-charge (OC) of Dhamurhat police station said, there was a longstanding dispute between two neighbours Atoar and Ishahaque Ali over the land near their houses at Omarpur village.
Following an altercation yesterday, Ishahaque and his men attacked Atoar and his family members with sticks and other lethal weapons leaving Atoar dead on the spot and injuring his three brothers Motiar Rahman, 50, Mojaffor Hossain, 45, and Afzal Hossain, 35.
Police arrested Ishahaque Ali's wife Khodeza Begum, 50, and his daughter-in-law from the village while other members of the family fled the area, the OC added.

Of the injured, 10 were admitted to Baufal upazila health complex.
Police and locals said, Hindus worship at the 100-year-old temple in Kabirkathee village during Pahela Baishakh every year. But recently two groups from Kalishuree and Kabirkathee village locked in a quarrel over appointment of priest of the temple.
