Speakers at a citizens' rally yesterday demanded compensation and government reception to the family members of Hazrat Ali, who was killed by muggers while he was protesting them at Rainkhola in Mirpur in the capital. They also demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers, said a press release. Nagorik Sanghati, a citizen's body, organised the rally before the National Museum at Shahbagh in the capital. Earlier on April 6, a gang of armed muggers was mugging three women in the area. Following the incident, Ali, 40, field area manager of Kollol Group, tried to resist them risking his life. The muggers then shot him to death.
