5 held with firearms, 4,000 Yaba tablets
Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested five men, allegedly involved in mugging and drug dealing, in two raids in the capital's Agargaon yesterday.
A pistol, a revolver, 10 bullets, 4,000 pieces of Yaba tablets and a stolen saloon car were seized from them.
The arrestees are Alamgir Hossain, Mohammad Ilias Hossain Babu, Md Nazrul, Ibrahim Miah and Mohammad Monsur Rahman, said DB Additional Deputy Commissioner Mashiur Rahman.
On a tip off, DB raided a road near Shishu Palli around 12:10am and caught Alamgir and Babu. As per their information, they then raided West Agargaon area and caught the remaining three on the car near LGED Bhaban, he added.
