Youth gets life
A court here sentenced a youth to life term imprisonment yesterday for raping a girl who later committed suicide because of the disgrace.
Convict Fazar Ali is a son of one Siddique Bepari of Shahednagar area in the town.
The court also acquitted three people as their guilt was not proved.
According to prosecution, Fazar raped the girl on October 10, 2009.
When the incident came to light, a series of village arbitrations took place till October 14 but they failed to bring the culprit to book.
In her despair on October 15, the victim committed suicide by hanging herself in her room.
