Palestinian president to make stopover in Dhaka

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will make an hour-long stopover in Dhaka on Sunday on his way back home after visiting Japan. A special aircraft carrying the Palestinian leader will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 4:45pm. After his stopover in Dhaka, he will leave for Colombo for a two-day visit to Sri Lanka, official sources said. Contacted, an official at the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka preferring not to be named, however, said it is not yet confirmed whether the president will have a stopover in Dhaka. The Palestinian leader will visit Colombo from April 15 to 17 at the invitation of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
