Youth killed only for Tk 500 by fellow RMG worker in Ctg
A youth met a tragic end as his fellow worker stabbed him to death for only Tk 500 in the port city on Tuesday.
The deceased, Mohammed Parvez, 20, was a worker of the garment factory of Techno Dress Limited in the city's Dewanhat.
Police arrested Manjurul, 19, Hanif, 30, Nurul Nabi, 30, Shahjahan, 20, and Mohammad Shopon, 26, all workers of the factory, in connection with the killing.
Manjurul, while talking to journalists at Double Mooring Police Station yesterday, confessed that he gave Tk 500 to Hanif to kill Parvez.
He and Nurul were also present at the spot when Hanif stabbed Parvez in Wapda Colony area around 11:30pm on Tuesday, confessed Manjurul.
Following the incident, locals and relatives rushed Parvez to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 1:00am yesterday, said hospital sources.
Manjurul said he had been angry with Parvez following an altercation and scuffle between them on Sunday.
Shahjahan and Shopon, however, denied their involvement in the killing while Manjurul said they knew about the incident.
Inspector (Investigation) Satyajit Barua of Double Mooring Police Station made the arrests after a case was filed in this regard.
