4 remanded in Khulna in motorbike theft case
Four people, including two members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), arrested on charge of stealing motorbikes, were taken on a two-day remand yesterday.
The accused are Syed Obaidul Islam of Rab-6, Lance Naik of BGB Md Akidul Islam, Kazi Moinudding Robin and Jashimuddin.
Police arrested the four along with four stolen motorbikes from different places under Khalishpur police station of the city on Sunday following a case filed by SM Khurshid Ahmed, general secretary of Awami League ward-13 unit.
Khurshid is an owner of one of the stolen motorcycles, said Shahabuddin Azad, officer in-charge of the PS.
Earlier in the day, sub-inspector Manosh Ranjan Das, investigation officer (IO) of the case, produced the accused before a court seeking five days' remand, the OC added.
