Three die in road crashes
Three people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Chandpur, Chittagong and Jessore yesterday.
Our Chandpur correspondent reports: Expatriate Kamal Gazi, 35, son of Md Abdul Motaleb Gazi, died instantly as a pickup van hit him from behind on Chandpur-Comilla highway in Mothkhola area in the town yesterday.
Following the accident, angry people put up barricades on the highway for nearly one hour.
In Chittagong, truck driver Abul Hashem, 35, was killed and three others were injured when a truck collided head-on with a coach on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Panthishila Bazar area of Shitakunda upazila yesterday.
In Jessore, Asraful Islam, 30, son of Khairul Islam, died and two others were injured as a motorbike hit another bike at Putkhali in Benapole on Monday.
