Worker falls to death in city
A construction worker fell to death from a seven storey under construction building at Tanti Bazar in old part of the city yesterday.
Mohammad Ali Noor, 35, varnish worker and son of Abdul Hamid Hawlader, hailed from Madaripur. He was working on the outside of Mila Tower at Tanti Bazar at around 1:00 pm.
On-duty security guard of the building Mohammad Hasan rushed seriously injured Ali Noor to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Hasan told The Daily Star that Noor and two other workers were painting the outside wall on the seventh floor of the building on a rope ladder. Noor suddenly fell as his feet slipped.
There is no security measures for the workers in the building, Hasan said.
