Ishtiaq passes away

Ishtiaq Ahmed, former Bangla Service chief of Voice of America (VOA), passed away on April 1 at the age of 79. He left behind his wife, two sons, two daughters, brothers, sisters, a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death. He was laid to rest at the Sterling Cemetery in Virginia on the next day following a namaz-e-janaza at the ASAMS Center. His family members, colleagues, friends and well-wishers attended the programme to pray for the salvation of the departed soul, said a press release.
