Jubo League factions clash: 15 injured

A total of 15 activists of Bangladesh Awami Jubo League, were injured in a factional clash over a trifling matter in Lalkhan Bazar area in the port city early hours of yesterday. The clash ensued at Chanmari Road between the party's port city unit general secretary Farid Mahmud group and central committee member Didarul Alam group, said police. Police said: “They locked into an argument over sitting on a bench that triggered the clash.” Police arrested six activists of both of the groups in this connection. They are Shahidul Islam, 30, Mohammed Shahjahan, 19, Mohammed Wasim, 23, Mohammed Rubel, 17, Tapan Ghosh, 25, and Sujan Mia, 31. The injured Towhid Aziz, 32, Delwar Hossain, 34, Emdadul Haq, 28, Mohammed Jewel, 28, Mamun, 27, Kajol, 25, Sumon Das, 30, Sekandar Mia, 26, Sakib, 26, Raju Barua, 29, Babul Ahmed, 25, Sajib, 29, Jahid Hasan, 32, Mohammed Sulaiman, 28 and Shuvo Das, 27 were undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
