3 held for lawyer's death
Police yesterday arrested three staff members of a training institute in connection with the killing of a lawyer, who was found dead at his business firm in Sylhet's Shahjalal Uposhahar area Thursday night.
The arrestees are trainer Sohel Ahmed, office assistant Polash Ahmed and guard Habib Mia.
On Thursday, the body of Mudabbir Hossain, 42, also owner of the institute Universal Professional & Vocational Training Institute, was found at his office room at 8:20pm.
Police said Mudabbir's body was found tied up with ropes and lying under a table. One of the institute's staff found the body and informed the police.
Officer-in-Charge of Shahporan Police Station Enamul Manwar said the murder might have taken place between 7:00pm and 8:00pm.
The body had several injury marks, he said adding that it was sent to Osmani Medical College for a post mortem.
