In the sampan race, the contestants will have to row about an 850-metre watercourse from South Ghat to Firingi Bazar Bridge Ghat in the Karnaphuli within 25 minutes. Around 30 teams, each comprising some nine oarsmen, will take part in the competition to win the pride to be the fastest sampan team.
