Bangladeshi duo win UNEP award
A Bangladeshi climate scientist and a journalist have won top honours at an UN-sponsored international competition for their work in highlighting the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.
Dr Atiq Rahman, executive director of the Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies (BCAS), won the award administered by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for his documentary on the impacts of climate change on the costal belt of Bangladesh.
Syed Zain Al-Mahmood won the best media report award with his story published in UNB's sister publication, Dhaka Courier, in August last year.
