2 die in road crashes
Two people were killed and five others injured in two road accidents in Rangpur and Gaibandha on Monday and yesterday.
A motorcyclist died on the spot as a speeding truck hit his motorcycle on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway in Taraganj Bazar area of Taraganj upazila in Rangpur on Monday afternoon.
The deceased is Mohammad Ali, 60, of Uttar Hajipara village in the upazila, said police.
In Gaibandha a rickshaw-van puller was killed and five others sustained injuries in a road accident on Rangpur-Bogra highway at Dhaperhat in Sadullapur upazila yesterday.
A speeding truck rammed the van, leaving the six, including the van puller Chengtu Mia, 50, injured, said police.
Chengtu was rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The victims were from Nichpara village in Sadullapur upazila.
