Drug peddlers cut veins of Rab source
Members of a local drug peddling gang cut the leg veins of a source of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in the city's Malibagh area yesterday.
The victim, Mohammad Jasim, 32, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:00pm.
Victim's brother Yusuf Ali said some 10 to 12 members of the gang picked up Jasim from in front of his house at Chowdhurypara in Malibagh around 9:30pm.
They took Jasim to East Nayatola and stabbed him in his hand and cut the veins of his legs, he said.
Jasim helped Rab-3 personnel arrest members of a local drug peddling gang led by one Abul two weeks ago, said Yusuf.
Jasim was working with Rab-3 as a source for last six to seven months, he added.
