Three arrested with drugs, pirated CDs
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in separate drives arrested three young drug peddlers and seized some Yaba tablets, Phensidyl and pirated CDs in the port city on Saturday and Sunday.
In a drive, Rab 7 men arrested Mohammed Saif and Abdul Hamid with 1,000 Yaba tablets before Hotel Sea Count at Kalatali point in the city at 7:40pm on Saturday, said a press release.
In another drive, the elite force arrested Tareq Hossain with 1,900 packets of pirated CDs from his possession from a house at Amirabad village in Lohagara Upazila at around 2:10pm on Sunday.
Yet another drive, Rab personnel, on secret information, chased a group of drug peddlers at Dharmapur Shelter Project in the port city at 10:30pm on Sunday.
The drug peddlers, however, managed to flee leaving 48 bottles of Phensidyl and a couple of bottles of Ricodex.
Separate cases have been filed with respective police stations.
